Concrete4Change is delighted to announce that has been selected for the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Prize.
The Royal Academy of Engineering is a world-renowned organisation, one of the top Accelerators in the world. The Academy harnesses the power of engineering to help build a sustainable society and an inclusive, green economy that works for everyone.
Advanced Construction Accelerator -Concrete4Change
Concrete4Change is delighted to be part of the top 10 SMEs which have been selected for the Advanced Construction Accelerator. The Advanced Construction Accelerator is designed to explore specific challenges set by the construction industry and the 10 SMEs have been accepted to solve them.
Barriers to Net-Zero concrete - Fly Ash & GGBS shortage
Here is an article that discusses how the shortage of FA and GGBS and their increasing costs has been affecting the decarbonisation of the construction industry.
It is interesting to note that FA and GGBS are vital for some applications of concrete (i.e. increasing the durability). These materials are very effective in reducing the embodied carbon of concrete. However, due to the shortage of FA and GGBS, they are not a viable solution for the decarbonisation of concrete in the long term.
Fast Track: European innovation council (EIC) Investment
Concrete4Change has been progressing at an accelerated pace having received EIC arm (Climate-KIC) investment of €100K, as one of the top 20 companies in the European ESG arena and cohort, we have been fast tracked to the second stage of the EIC accelerator. This provides us with:
- Grant funding of (non-dilutive) up-to €2.5 million.
- Direct equity investment of up to €15 million.
sustainable design goal award
The C4C team were honoured to be nominated as one of the finalists of SDG – Sustainable Cities and Innovation hosted by the EU Tech Chamber.
The SDG Expo was held on Friday 17th December, where the team presented to fellow founders and stakeholders in the European Technology Ecosystem.
Circular Cities ClimAccelerator – Concrete4Change
Concrete4Change recently showcased at the 2021 demo day for the Circular Cities ClimAccelerator, receiving great support and advocacy from mentors and stakeholders from across the European continent.
The Demo Day started with an engaging panel discussion on unlocking partnerships between investors and startups. Then the C4C team pitched their ideas and solutions to a house full of investors, corporates, city representatives among other key actors within the ecosystem of circular economy.
Special thanks to the moderators and eco-system partners, in particular Climate-KIC
Confederation Of Indian Industry Showcase
Concrete4Change, is honoured to be part of India’s path to Net-zero. We would like to thank the Confederation of Indian Industry and CII – Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for providing us with the platform and opportunity to present our technology to India.
It was great hearing from the Reliance Industries Limited Group vice president Mr. M.L. Sinhal and Mr. Bagath Singh of Blue star for introducing their net-zero programs.
Concrete4Change is honoured to be selected by Climate-Kic as one of 20 teams for European Innovation Council Fund. We have passed the first stage of grant and working on the second stage.
Ireland Construction Alliance
We are presenting our technology for CitA – Ireland Construction Alliance. C4C helps Ireland and Circularities achieving their Net-Zero Targets.
British Pre-Cast Federation Partnership
Concrete4Change would like to thank British Precast for the opportunity to discuss our technology. Sid Pourfalah & Michael Wise were guest speakers at Decarbonisation Webinar alongside Elaine Toogood, James Morgan and Aidan Fogarty.
James talked about how they are reducing emissions by optimising current designs, Aidan introduced how GGBS Technologies can be used to reduce emissions. Concrete4Change showcased how a disruptive technology will transform the construction industry from emission problems to CO2 sink providers.
It was great to see how the companies fit in the overall ecosystem of achieving net-zero.
Partnership with Warwick Manufacturing Group & University of Warwick
WMG centre High Value Manufacturing Catapult and the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick are proud to be supporting Concrete4Change, whose mission is to enable the concrete industry to transition from CO2 emitters to CO2 sinks.
With support from this consortium, C4C has been able to develop its technology in line with industry requirements and begin making the net-zero future for concrete a reality.
UK-Latin America Partnership – Connected Places Catapult
Concrete4Change is honoured to selected by Connected Places Catapult and our new partners in South America, expanding our operations to tackle the construction Net Zero challenge in the continent. C4C has been selected as one of the top pioneering companies helping the world reach net-zero.

EuroNews article about our technology
EuroNews has recently published an article about the work we are doing at C4C.
“If concrete was a country, it would be the third biggest emitter of CO2 in the world.”
Our team are on a mission to change the industry responsible for over eight per cent of global carbon dioxide emissions.
A new technology for sequestration of CO2 into concrete.
United Nations COP26 Climate Challenge Cup Award
We are honoured to announce that Concrete4Change has been awarded as the most innovative project for Achiving Net-Zero in UN COP26 Net-Zero Climate Challenge Cup competition. This competition selects companies with the most innovative and promising approaches to tackling climate change.
Our project will be showcased at the United Nations Climate Conference (COP26). We will compete for the UN award of the most innovative company tackling climate change.
